A renewed confidence amongst buyers, low prices and the Spanish banks’ willingness to offer competitive mortgages is attracting increasing numbers of new buyers in the country, according to a new analysis.

The number of international buyers back in the Spanish property market is rising with British people now representing almost 20% of foreign sales, new data shows.

In absolute terms, the number of purchases by foreigners is increasing to over 42,000 in a year with close to 11,000 transactions quarterly, and over 42,000 in a year. Read more »

WHILE recovery is expected to be slow but sure for the Spanish property market, certain areas including the Costa del Sol are likely to see significant property price increases next year, a new report has concluded.

Acuña y Asociados real estate consulting firm’s Spanish Real Estate Market Annual Report has predicted that prices will now stabilise in most parts of the country yet popular areas including the Costa del Sol, Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona are likely to see increases of between 3 and 5 per cent. The IPE business school specializing in real estate have claimed that the property sector on the Costa del Sol will grow 10% this year!!

Jose Antonio Perez from the IPE reported to the Spanish press that the Costa del Sol in particular, is likely to show higher growth than other areas inland areas of Spain like Madrid and Barcelona. Read more »
