Average property prices grew 6.8% in January, compared with the same month in 2018, according to property valuation firm Tinsa’s IMIE Monthly Report, representing the highest January rise in over a decade.
In all the categories identified by Tinsa, properties located on the ‘Mediterranean Coast’ saw the largest year-on-year price increase – rising by 10.1%, followed by properties in ‘Capitals and Large Cities’ (9%). New home sales grew significantly in the first 11 months of 2018, accompanied by a rise in the number foreign buyers, government data shows.
The Spanish property market continued to grow last year with sales rising by 11% between January and November, compared to 2017, – averaging 43,747 sales per month – according to the National Statistics Institute (INE). Read more »

Spanish property sales reached over half a million in 2018, for the first time in a decade.
A total of 515,000 residential properties were sold in Spain last year, representing a 10.1% increase on 2017 figures and the first time in 10 years that sales figures have risen over the 500,000 mark, according to latest data published by the government’s central statistic unit. Read more »

In 2018, Spanish property prices grew by 7.8%, compared with a 5.1% growth rate the year before, according to real estate portal Fotocasa.
The property market recovery is still somewhat sporadic across the country – Madrid experienced house price increases of 19.5%, while prices in regions such as Murcia dropped by 3.3%. However, experts are forecasting a slowdown in market activity in regions that were quick to join the recovery, which should spark some upward movements in less thriving areas. Read more »
